Michigan Dreaming: Help Bridge compile the ultimate summer bucket list

- Bridge Michigan is hitting the road this summer, checking off the Michigan Dreaming Bucket List
- We’re spending the spring compiling the list before venturing out to the great outdoors
- We need your help with ideas, and we’re eager to meet readers at events all summer
It may not feel like it everywhere, but it’s now officially spring in Michigan, and Bridge Michigan is already dreaming of summer.
We’re graced with plenty of great outdoors in Michigan, from the longest freshwater coastline in the country, more than 300 waterfalls, 129 lighthouses, 103 state parks and countless must-see spots, from wineries and the Mystery Spot to old-growth forests and the Root Beer Barrel in Douglas.
Bridge loves them all, and is working to compile a Michigan Dreaming Bucket List of must-see attractions and experiences to share with when the weather warms.

We know about the heavy hitters — horse-drawn carriages on Mackinac Island, kayaking past Pictured Rocks, climbing Sleeping Bear Dunes, admiring Tahquamenon Falls — but we’re aiming higher with this list.
We want you to think a little bit outside the fudge box, as some might say.

Each suggestion will ideally fit the following criteria:
- It’s in Michigan
- It is either a bit under the radar or perhaps unattainable to most. (Everyone has been to the Mackinac Bridge but has everyone been to the top of the Mackinac Bridge towers?)
- It can be done in the summer
- Bonus points if it’s more than something to just look at, if there’s an activity involved or an interesting backstory
With your help, we’ll spend some time compiling and whittling down suggestions to assemble a list of dream Michigan adventures.
Bridge, led by Outdoors Life Reporter Laura Herberg, will spend the summer checking off the bucket list items and chronicling them in BridgeMi.com and on our Instagram, YouTube and TikTok accounts.
Along the way, we’ll have opportunities to engage and meet our readers.
The series will culminate with the ultimate bucket list adventure in late summer, when Bridge will invite readers along to experience an amazing slice of Michigan.
What or where will it be? That’s part of the fun.
So be creative and bold and help us experience a summer as amazing as Michigan.
