With control of congress at stake, Michigan voters will decide 13 U.S. House races and an open U.S. Senate seat in the Nov. 5 general election. Some of the races are expected to be among the most competitive in the country.

The general election for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat includes Democrat Elissa Slotkin, Republican Mike Rogers and third-party candidates.

Berman, a Republican from the Upper Peninsula, seeks a fifth term in a district that is solidly red.

The Caledonia Republican faces one Democratic challenger in the conservative district.

The Democrat scored an upset in 2022, winning her first term. She is seeking re-election in a district that has become far more competitive politically.

Huizenga, a Republican, has held the west Michigan district since 2011, but several candidates are vying to replace him.

Walberg, a Tipton Republican, was first elected in 2006 to represent southern Michigan. The district is solidly conservative.

This initiative means more STEM education and skilled training programs and more good-paying middle-class jobs.
