Internships

Our internship program is made possible through a number of partners — including universities across Michigan and journalism organizations. These partnerships bring early-career journalists into our newsrooms, giving them hands-on experience producing real reporting for Michigan readers and helping build the next generation of public-service journalists. Educational institutions provide crucial support in developing that emerging talent, and we engage closely with universities to mentor interns and create pathways for diverse voices to enter the field.

Prospective interns

Open internships will appear with our other openings above. We also encourage you to check with your university’s journalism or communications department about programs that partner with Bridge Michigan.

Universities and partner organizations

If you’re a university or journalism organization interested in placing an intern with Bridge Michigan — or in building a new partnership — we’d love to hear from you. Email jobs@bridgemi.com with “Internship Partnership” in the subject line and tell us about your program and what you have in mind.
