Membership

Bridge is reader-powered, and Bridge members make our journalism possible. We make every contributor a member because we feel strongly that our donors are more than financial supporters — they’re an integral part of our work. A tax-deductible donation of any amount supports our nonprofit newsroom. A gift of $1 or more makes you a member for 365 days, with benefits that grow at every giving level.

And you can give in whatever way works best for you — a one-time gift, a monthly sustaining donation, appreciated stock, a qualified charitable distribution from an IRA or a donor-advised fund. However you give, every dollar goes straight to keeping Bridge Michigan’s journalism free and accessible for all.

Additional Ways to Give

There are many tax-smart ways to support Bridge Michigan beyond a standard gift. Sally Freels, our membership and individual giving director, can walk you through all of your options and help you find the approach that makes the most sense for you and your goals.

A few examples:

  • Donor-advised funds (DAFs): recommend a grant to the Center for Michigan through your DAF
  • Appreciated stock and securities: a tax-efficient way to give that may help you avoid capital gains
  • Qualified charitable distributions (IRA): if you’re 70½ or older, give directly from your IRA
  • Planned and legacy giving: include Bridge Michigan in your will, trust or estate plans
  • Matching gifts: many employers will match your donation, doubling your impact

Not sure where to start? Reach out to Sally at sfreels@centerformichigan.org and she’ll walk you through every option.

Prefer to give by mail? Checks can be made payable to the Center for Michigan and mailed to us at 950 Selden St., Suite 210, Detroit, MI 48201. The Center for Michigan is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our EIN is 32-0167398.

Sponsorship

The Center for Michigan’s sponsorship program offers businesses and organizations an opportunity to align their brand with trusted, nonpartisan journalism that Michigan’s most informed readers depend on. Sponsoring organizations demonstrate their commitment to an informed Michigan while reaching our audience of decision-makers, community leaders and civically engaged citizens.

Whether you’re ready to sponsor or just exploring your options, Emma Carr, our revenue development specialist, can walk you through sponsorship opportunities, audience insights and rates. Reach her at ecarr@centerformichigan.org or (734) 210-1938.

Advertising

Advertising with Bridge Michigan puts your message in front of one of the most engaged audiences in the state: a large, loyal readership of decision-makers, community leaders and civically active Michiganders who act on what they see. Our placements are designed so advertisers don’t compete for attention, giving each one meaningful visibility across our newsletters, website and statewide Watch and regional editions.

True to our nonprofit mission, advertising is always kept separate from our journalism. We don’t publish sponsored content, and every placement is clearly labeled.
