Happy birthday, United States. It’s been quite the 250 years.
The July 4 holiday commemorates the Declaration of Independence from Britain, which wasn’t actually signed until Aug. 2, 1776. So begins a two and a half centuries of quirks, oddities and trivia that are ripe for a history quiz.
