Today's question: Who are the Michigan delegates to the Republican National Convention?

Michigan Republicans at the national party convention in Milwaukee on Monday cast 51 of the state's 55 delegate votes for Donald Trump, who was formally nominated as the party's presidential choice for the Nov. 5 general election.

“We’re proud to be part of the so-called ‘blue wall,’” convention delegate and 8th Congressional District Chair Anne DeLisle said in a floor speech announcing the Michigan vote. “We’re going to tear down that wall to once again elect our 45th and 47th President, Donald J. Trump.”

Among the at-large delegates chosen to represent Michigan were Republican U.S. Reps. Lisa McClain of Romeo, John James of Farmington Hills, Jack Bergman of Watersmeet, John Moolenaar of Caledonia, Bill Huizenga of Holland and Tim Walberg of Tipton.

Other notable delegates include state Reps. Bill Schuette of Midland and Jim Runestad of White Lake, Kalamazoo County GOP Chair Kelly Sackett, 11th Congressional District Chair Bill Rauwerdink and Livingston County Commissioner Wes Nakagiri.

Michigan Democrats raised concerns about two other GOP delegates facing felony charges related to a ‘fake elector plot to overturn Trump’s election loss in 2020: Former RNC national committeewoman Kathy Berden and former Michigan GOP co-chair Meshawn Maddock.

Both pleaded not guilty to felony charges punishable by up to 14 years in prison and are awaiting a judicial decision on whether they’ll stand trial.

Maddock was elevated from an alternate delegate in place of former Michigan GOP chair Ronna McDaniel. Similarly Matt DePerno, a 2022 attorney general nominee now battling criminal charges for an alleged tabulator tampering scheme, was initially an alternate but was seen on the convention floor.
