• Nine new ‘I voted’ stickers will be available to Michigan voters during the November general election.
  • The designs were created by students and residents from across the state
  • Local election clerks can now order the stickers to distribute to voters on Election Day

The winning entries in Michigan’s second “I voted” design contest range from funny and cute to playful nods to Michigan culture.

The state announced the 2026 winners Tuesday, unveiling nine new sticker options that local clerks will be able to order and provide to voters who cast ballots in the November general election.

The winning designs depict a tired cat saying “I voted now let me sleep,” a bunny astronaut declaring “even I voted” and a dancing frog princess.

Others reference the Edmund Fitzgerald, the state’s iconic blue license plate, orange road construction cones, Superman ice cream, a lighthouse and the Mackinac Bridge.

One winner, a “No, yeah. I voted” sticker by Maddie Tallman of Woodhaven, depicts several distinctly Michigan things, like euchre, Michigan lefts and coney dogs.

The state first held the contest during the 2024 presidential election year. More than 57,000 Michiganders voted in that contest.

This year, residents submitted 2,095 designs, about four times the number submitted when the state first held the competition. More than 53,000 people voted in the 2026 contest.

“Thanks to the Collegiate Student Advisory Task Force, who came up with this contest and sorted through thousands of entries, to every person who submitted a design, and to everyone who voted for their favorite sticker,” Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said in a statement.

The Michigan Department of State said the contest is intended to give people of all ages another way to participate in the democratic process.

The nine winning designs were selected from three categories: elementary and middle school students in grades K-8, high school students in grades 9-12 and a general category open to Michigan residents of all ages.

Members of the Michigan Collegiate Student Advisory Task Force narrowed the entries to 30 semifinalists in each category before the public voted on the finalists.
