Federal law generally bars Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, SNAP, recipients from using their benefits on hot or prepared food. But since 2021, Michigan has offered an exception: the Restaurant Meal Program.
Under the program, SNAP recipients who are over 60, have a disability or are homeless — or are married to someone who is — can use their Bridge card to buy cooked meals at participating restaurants.
Roughly 300 restaurants across Michigan were participating as of June 2026, most of them fast food chains. Use the map below to find participating locations near you, color-coded by restaurant type.
A note on this map:
Locations are based on the participant list published by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. When Bridge Michigan visited some locations, we found restaurants that had closed or were not accepting Bridge cards because of administrative issues.
